Wood I

This studio course introduces the fundamentals of wood as an expressive material. Students learn how to properly mark, mill, and join wood together. In addition, they learn about the properties and material characteristics that make wood a distinct artistic medium while also investigating some of the theory and discourse of contemporary craft.
